YouWiN! stands for Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria. It is an innovative business plan competition aimed at job creation by encouraging and supporting aspiring entrepreneurial youth in Nigeria to develop and execute business ideas.

The Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (You WiN!) Programme is a collaboration of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Communication Technology (CT), and the Ministry of Youth Development that will launch an annual Business Plan Competition (BPC) for aspiring young entrepreneurs in Nigeria, in line with the Federal Government’s drive to create more jobs for Nigerians. The programme is implemented in partnership with Nigeria’s private sector.

“In line with the president’s vision, the main objective of YouWiN is to generate jobs by encouraging and supporting aspiring entrepreneurial youth in Nigeria to develop and execute business ideas that will lead to job creation,” said Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister for Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. “The program will provide aspiring youth with a platform to showcase their business acumen, skills and aspirations to business leaders, investors and mentors in Nigeria.”

The funds will be provided via a banking institution, and will be disbursed according to the achievement of milestones in business execution.

APPLICATION

Entry submission of applications for youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWin!) was open from Tuesday 11thOctober to Friday 18th  and was extended by 2 weeks. Submission for the 1st round closed on Friday, November 25, 2011.

The selection of provisional award winners has been completed and the Complete list was published by 12:00 Midnight on Monday, March 19, 2012 on YouWIN website and selected National Dailies of the following day.
