To mark the Global Entrepreneurs Week, the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) has launched a mobile app, a factsheet of 65 business across different sectors of the economy and awarded 14 entrepreneurs within the FCT during the 3rd FCT Entrepreneurship Conference and Merit Award (FECMA).
Speaking at the event, the FCT permanent secretary, Sir Chinyeaka C. Ohaa, represented by the Director, Human Resources Management of the FCT, Hajiya Amina Abubakar stated that the FCTA’s commitment to ensure business growth and development within the FCT through the provision of necessary enabling environment and other important logistics in order to facilitate the optimization of SMEs within the FCT.
While launching the MSME tools, the MD/CEO Arabi Muhamed Tukur, said the mobile app will provide, among others things, real time information to subscribers on business opportunities and online resources, while the factsheet will afford intending MSMEs to start the businesses of their choice with the basic requirements.
The keynote speaker, Dr Mudasiru Olaitan, Director Development Finance, Central Bank of Nigeria said the government wants to create at least 10,000 jobs in the agricultural sector through the Anchors Brewers programme and other schemes of the bank.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of the awards to the 19 awardees who have distinguished themselves in various business sectors and the AEA SME factsheet which has a breakdown of information on 65 business initiatives.
