The Managing Director/CEO, Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) in the company of the Management staff and some Team Leads were at the Secondary Education Board (SEB) on October 29, 2014 on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Board.
The primary aim of visit was to facilitate the reactivation of the Entrepreneurs’ Club (EC) activities in Secondary Schools in the FCT which have not been running for some time. The following areas of possible collaboration with the Board were also highlighted by the MD/CEO during the visit.
• Capacity building and development for students and teachers
• Content for Entrepreneurship Curriculum development for secondary schools.
• Agency’s support for agro-based business development for school farms under the recently launched National Schools Agricultural Programme (NSAP)
• Pre-retirement training for staff of Secondary Education Board.
The Chairman expressed his delight about the Agency’s programme and projects in the FCT and beyond and noted that the visit was well timed. He further advised that projects of ECs’ nature and magnitude should be kept in motion and sustained as these will help to enlighten the young ones still in schools about entrepreneurship and ultimately address the challenges of youth unemployment in the nation.
He assured of the Board total support for the EC programme and informed that an inter-departmental committee will be set up within the Board which will come up with a proposal on other areas of collaboration and forward to the Agency in the next two (2) weeks.
