As part of the Agency’s renewed commitment towards impacting on the lives of the dwellers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and improving their economic well-being, employment generation and job creation, the Agency, with the support of the FCT Honorable Minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello developed a Free Entrepreneurship & Skills Acquisition Training Programme in the FCT.

The training programme is going to be in batches from October to December 2018, and kick starts with the Agric Business Development Training.

The Agric training was categorized into the urban and rural kinds in different locations to run simultaneously. The rural training held from 15th – 18th October, 2018 at the Gwagwalada Area Council Secretariat, Gwagwalada and had a total of 256 rural dwellers in participation while the Urban held from 15th _ 26th October, 2018 at the Abuja Enterprise Agency had 114 participants in attendance.

The training programme was aimed at providing the participants with practical knowledge and information on agribusiness management and development in order to enhance their capacity and improve their economic welfare.

The training which comprised of both Skills Acquisition and Business Management Training was divided into three (3) categories for the rural which included: Organic Compost Production, Feed Formulation for Cattle, Fish & Poultry and Bee-Keeping & Honey Production. The Urban however was categorized into two (2) categories which includes: Greenhouse farming, Micro Garden Practice & Mushroom Farming and Poultry, Fish & Cattle Production, Processing and Storage, the urban training was spiced up by a study tours to well established farms within the FCT.

After the Skills and Business Management Training, a day was set aside to provide business advisory services to the participants in order to fuse in the skills they learnt into the practice of their existing or intending business plans, also to sensitize the participants on the right approach in the management of their business endeavors.
