The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), yesterday, said Nigerian agricultural products would gain sufficient mileage at the international market when farmers adhere to global practices in packaging.

President of NACCIMA, Chief Iyalode Lawson, said farmers can earn foreigners’ trust by improving on their packaging and making sure their products meet global standards.

Lawson stated this in her speech titled, ‘The Impact of Private Ventures on Agribusiness in Nigeria’ at the Meet The Farmers Conference in Lagos.

The conference, with theme, ‘The Future of Agribusiness’, was to explore the challenges faced by farmers in penetrating international markets.

The NACCIMA president, represented by the Director- General, Ambassador Ayoola Olukanni, stressed that poor quality of produce by farmers that ply their trade in exporting the products has been a clog in the wheel of progress of export business in Nigeria.
