Life is A Day
Yesterday, I saw a man who should be in his mid 60s working as a bus conductor. That sight triggered a lot of thoughts that ran through my mind through the rest of the evening. I kept asking myself questions like;
What did he do with his early years that have now landed him on a job which is supposed to be a brief passage for a young man who’s trying to move from survival to stability.
What didn’t he do that he was supposed to do, that has left him working hard in what should be his resting years.
I couldn’t stop him to ask these questions but as a student of life, I think I can share some insights which may be the reason why he is where he is.
Time is one imperative commodity that determines the outcome of every individual’s life. I often hear people say; “you are wasting time“. But my response to such phrase is, no one can waste time. You can only waste what you control, and we don’t control time. So, a person can only waste his/her life in time… and not time.
In life, timing is everything. There are certain things that are good, but when you do them outside of timing, it will be considered bad. For example, the same baby that a woman will give birth to and the family will call a party and celebrate in a great way, is the same baby another lady will give birth to, and the family will accuse her of bringing shame on the family. Why? One waited until she was married, and the other had a child outside wedlock. It is all a timing thing.
A day is made up of 24 hours, and I consider a day to be MAN (Morning, Afternoon, & Night). A day is at least 75 years. And each part of the day has 25yrs allotted to it. Morning is 25yrs, Afternoon is 25yrs, & Night is 25yrs. Every person’s morning (your first 25yrs), is for learning, your afternoon (25-50yrs) is for earning, and your night (50-75yrs) is for yawning. If you decided to use your learning years for yawning, you may end up spending your yawning days earning.
You need to be very strategic in how you make your life count within the time made available to you.
This is getting too long, let me stop here. Enjoy your day.
