The acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), Mr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe has disclosed that Abuja Enterprise Agency is at the moment undergoing reformation geared towards improved service delivery to Residents of the FCT and Nigerians at large, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

The acting CEO made the disclosure on Tuesday, 12th November,2023, during the opening ceremony of a two-week training programme facilitated by the German Agency for International Co-operation (GIZ) tagged: “Trainer Facilitator and Coach”, holding at the Agency’s Auditorium, Jahi, Abuja.

 

According to the AEA Boss, the ongoing reformation being carried out currently under his watch and his hard working team would not have been made possible without the pragmatic leadership approach and the enabling environment provided by the Honourable Minister of FCT, His Excellency, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike as well as the support of  the Honourable Minister of State, FCT, Hajiya Mariya Mahmoud.

 

Speaking further, Mr. Ezirigwe explained that the repositioning became necessary in view of the Agency’s firm commitment to ensure it continues to deliver top notch professional entrepreneurial development services geared towards stimulating business growth in the nation’s capital city and beyond.

 

The Business Development Service expert who enjoined the participants to take the training exercise seriously in view of its immense importance, stressed the need for Staff to redouble their commitment and dedication as the Agency seeks new frontiers in a bid to expand its partnership outreach.

 

On his part, the Rector of Kaduna Business School, Dr. Dahiru Sani commended AEA for deepening the Territory’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, adding that the Agency has the capacity to make Abuja the Silicon Valley of Nigeria.

 

According to him, entrepreneurship development is the only way out of the country’s unemployment and economic quagmire. He, therefore, appealed to the government at all levels to support all efforts geared towards promoting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). 

 

Earlier in her remarks, the Head of GIZ Component, Economic Education & Entrepreneurship, Ms. Olawaiye Oladoyin said the training has been structured in an engaging manner, considering its experiential nature. While acknowledging the positive contributions of AEA in bridging the challenges associated with access to finance by most SMEs.

 

The training which has in attendance, 23 Staff of the Agency, drawn from Human Resources, Corporate Services, Finance and Accounts, Enterprise Development Service, Social Enterprise and Inclusion, Partnership and Strategy and Credit and Enterprise Capital Departments, started on Monday,13th November, 2023 and it is expected to end on Monday, 23rd, November, 2023.
