AEA HOST'S SOSMEDA

Abuja Enterprise Agency been the drivers  of entrepreneurial culture was called on by The Sokoto State Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (SOSMEDA) on the 31st of January, 2020 at the AEA complex to understudy and learn the agency's excellent methodology of operation. The SOSMEDA which was established in 2016 by the Sokoto State Governor, was led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on SOSMEDA  Muhammad Akibu Dalhatu  expressed their profound gratitude to the Agency for hosting them

He stated that AEA and SOSMEDA are Agencies with similar mandate, requesting that the SOSMEDA would like the opportunity to understudy AEA's linkages in implementation of programs and also outlined ways SOSMEDA can benefit from the Agency. She said

      "We are here today, to understudy your methodology and approach to enable us domesticate and operate in line with international best practice in the management of MSMEs development agencies".

        The MD/CEO of the Abuja Enterprise Agency Muhammad Tukur Arabi said the Agency is glad and willing to introduce them to key development partners, he also shed more light on the Abuja Business Plan Competition that has been going on for four years, this year makes it the 4th edition in collaboration with SMEDAN and the Dubai Annual Investment Meeting have now made it National Business Plan Competition, he asked them to encourage  people to apply as it is an opportunity for entrepreneur's to network, win and learn.

         Looking into the cottage industry the Agency hopes to have about 40 cottage centers at end the of 2020 in the FCT. Agwado Cassava Farmers Co-operative Chikuku already has about 120 women gainfully employed with the presence of the cottage center provided by the Agency.

       Also speaking is the General deputy manager of the Agency Shehu Abdulkadir, who thanked them for the visit and encouraged them on the key strategy to develop micro credit schemes, saying most individuals especially those in the North East can benefit from it. He also enlightened them on how the Agency is an Enterprise Development Institute for the CBN AGSMEIS fund, saying that people have come through the Agency and have been admitted by CBN, the Agency has trained over 500 individual and have captured over 300 people on the NIRSAL platform. The MD/CEO showed them round some of the facilities of the Agency including the One Stop Shop which  is among the first  digitalized One Stop Shop for MSMEs in Nigeria.
